The report presents actual information about the market of corrugated metal structures as at March 2010
The purpose of this research is to describe the situation on the Russian market of CMS during the economic crisis, to provide data on its dynamics, volume, main market participants, their strategies, scope and structure of consumption.
Assembled corrugated metal constructions (ACMC): arch bridges; road, rail, pedestrian tunnels, overpasses, culverts - one of the most advanced types of road engineering structures. The main differences from traditional CMS concrete elements are structural strength, resistance to aggressive media, a high seismic stability, ease of installation. Connection of the elements is done through bolts.
CMS were recommended during the construction and reconstruction of highways by the Federal Road Agency, and they worked well in railway construction.
Corrugated metal pipes are used for the construction of tunnels of various shapes and purposes:
·Rail and communication tunnels, tunnels for the passage of motor transport, pedestrians, animals
·Watercourses under the roadway
·Small and medium-sized bridges
·Avalanche galleries
In recent years, the demand for prefabricated corrugated steel structures was growing rapidly. The upward trend of consumption of corrugated metal constructions (CMS), established in recent years, was replaced bya fall of 26% in 2009.
